When the clock of life starts ticking, you suddenly speed up the memory making process, afraid that you won’t have enough to remember a soul by once they leave. In this case it’s Blue, my beloved little Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Blue

Blue (looking a bit shaggy ’cause it’s shedding time)

However I’m not really ready to talk about it. So before I tell you about what’s going on, I’m going to be uploading photos of my little boy. Hope you won’t mind. The impending loss also contributed to my blog silence at the end of July. Well, that and the fact that WordPress somehow lost it’s cookie and so “preview” of my last post wouldn’t load. Who knew? Luckily the support forums at WP have very helpful members.

Of late, in this cool (for LA at this time of year) weather in the high 80’s, Mr. Blue has been enchanted by some catdognip like smell in parts of the back lawn. So when he’s finished doing his business, he sniffs the ground here and there and suddenly dives face first into the lawn. He then begins an ecstatic rolling love affair with whatever smell he’s found. He hasn’t done this for quite a while so I’ve taken the opportunity to carry a camera with me when I let him out.

When I think back to my six former companions, I marvel at how very different each of their personalities were. Of course there were commonalities across the board in each. One such example, Siberian Huskies were always planted smackdab on the center of activities. I still recall Mishka, my first Husky, in my Aunt’s small (classic 50’s pink and black) tile kitchen at Thanksgiving. She was centered in the 6′ x 10′ floorspace and sound asleep causing everyone to step over her. I still marvel that no one thought to shoo her out into another room.

Anyways, on to Mr. Blue in a state of nirvana:

Sniffing the air, prelude to plowing face into grass

Sniffing the air, prelude to face plant in the grass

The writhin' and rollin' begins

The writhin’ and rollin’ begins

Oh nirvanaaaaah

Oh nirvanaaaaah

A little face rubbing...mmmmm

A little face rubbing…mmmmm

Rubbin' muzzle into wonderfulness

Rubbin’ face into wonderfulness

Floppin', rollin' like a fish out of water

Floppin’ around like a fish out of water

Sooo good, soooo good

Sooo good, soooo good

Did I hear something?

Roll pause. Did I hear something?

Now twistin' is added
Now twistin’ is added

Oh, I can't stand it!

Oh, I can’t stand it!

Mmmmmm

Mmmmmm

Someone's watching me

Someone’s watching me

Oh well, back to nirvanaaah

Oh well, back to nirvanaaah

Ecstacy

Ecstacy

Bliss

Bliss

Ahhhh

Ahhhh

Whew!

Whew!

Okay, just one more

Okay, just one more

I lied, I can't help it...mmm

I lied, I can’t help it…mmmmmm

Oh hi!
